National Geographic

Three of us spent 3 days polycarving this tail of a Blue Whale. It was to be placed in The Serpentine in Hyde Park as an April fools prank & to promote National Geographics new season of Whale related programmes.

The completed sculpture was covered in tin foil, which took a day, to act as a barrier between the polystyrene & fibreglass that would go on top.

Once the fibreglassing was done it was cleaned up, artworked & placed in the lake.

Biohazard Combat Armour

In 2009 i was approached by two film students from the Leeds Metropolitan University. They asked me to design & create three suits of futuristic military armour for their short film "Biohazard". I sculpted the helmet & torso with clay & these were moulded with silicone & cast out in fibreglass. The undersuit is customised motorcycle body armour.

At first i sculpted a highly detailed helmet which i then decided didn't really suit the rest of the armour design so i sculpted a more simplified & imposing helmet.

The finished torso armour sculpt & the final suit of armour completed with customised motorcycle body armour. The rifle was designed by Dan Martin & built by Dynamo.

Some test footage i shot of the suit nearing completion.
